A second phone number for contractors and tradespeople

You're under a sink or up a ladder. The phone rings all day and you call people back at 7pm, by which point half of them have hired someone else.

What a call sounds like

Thanks for calling Dave's Plumbing — what's going on?

My water heater's leaking all over the floor.

Have you shut the water off at the valve?

Yeah, just now.

Good. What's the address? I'll get you in tomorrow at 2.

You come down the ladder to a list of jobs, with addresses and what's wrong.

Setting it up

Knowledge: your service area, your call-out fee, and what you don't do. Greeting: "Thanks for calling Dave's Plumbing — what's going on?" Set hours so after-hours callers hear when you're back.

Everything above is configured in the app under Settings › Your Agent. Your assistant uses what you tell it on every call — so the more it knows about contractor or tradesperson work, the fewer calls come back to you.

Why not just give out your own number?

Because you can't take it back. A second line is a number you can hand out freely, hang up on, and release if it ever attracts the wrong attention — while your personal number stays with the people who already have it.
