A shared phone number for organising a team, class or group

You're running the team, the class trip, the fundraiser. Suddenly forty people have your mobile.

What a call sounds like

Hi, you've reached the team line. How can I help?

What time is Saturday's match?

Ten o'clock at Riverside, arrive by 9:30.

Perfect, thanks.

Any time.

You stop being the help desk.

Setting it up

Hand out the second number. Put the schedule and the FAQ in Knowledge so the assistant answers the same question forty times instead of you.

Everything above is configured in the app under Settings › Your Agent. Your assistant uses what you tell it on every call — so the more it knows about organising something work, the fewer calls come back to you.

Why not just give out your own number?

Because you can't take it back. A second line is a number you can hand out freely, hang up on, and release if it ever attracts the wrong attention — while your personal number stays with the people who already have it.

People also set it up for

Pick a number, tell your assistant what you know, and hand it out.
